Silage storage
Silage with quality
In the eld of long term storage of silage for dairy farms, and biogas plants much
can be gained on quality increase and cost reduction. The exible storage systems
of Eurobagging o er you the right solutions.
During the ensilaging, silage is exposed to oxygen. The faster silage is stored under
high pressure without oxygen, the more quality is preserved. The formation of lactic
acid bacteria increases as less oxygen is present in the silage and the pH value
decreases. Conventional storage methods such as pits and bunkers let silage expose
to oxygen for a long time.
The Bagging system is a continuous system where the silage is consistently pressed
under high pressure in a tube. Each trailer is immediately stored free of oxygen.
Besides the qualitative advantage, there are a number of additional advantages:
»
Flexible system that adapts to the available amount of silage.
» Versatile.
» Cost e cient. There is no need to invest xed installments. Capital invested in concrete is stuck and is depriving your exibility.
» Labor e cient. No need for covering silage bunkers and pits.
» Unburden. Silage baggers need only one skilled operator. This reduces the risk of mistakes being made, compared to other silage
making methods, where many people are involved in the process. Management can be assured, of having high quality silage available.
Silage Bagging has proven to reduce quality losses with at least 10% compared to conventional systems. This 10% quality increase easily pays back the
investment in the Bagging system.
